Free Long distance calls

First time ever in Canada you can now make free long distance calls including from your cell phone. Free calls can be to anywhere in Canada or the U.S.

The calls can be made with your Android cell phone, Iphone or even your computer. Cells will be made using Google Hangouts. Yesterday Google released the dialer which acts like a normal phone.






So what do you need to do?

1) Download Hangouts app.

2) Download the Hangouts Dialer app.

3) Call anyone for free.

Some FAQ (I will keep adding more all the time)

1) Can I call international numbers?
Yes you can and the rates are the lowest I have ever seen.
Calling another person anywhere on the planet with Google Hanouts is FREE.

2) How do I add cash to my Google Wallet? (for international calls)
Just follow this guide.

3) I am trying and it tells me that I need to update Google Hanouts but there is no update available. What is going on?
Google is rolling out Hanouts 2.3 very slowly you need to wait for it to be released to you. I guess they do not want to be overwhelmed with billions of free calls.

4) Can I use it with my home phone?
No, you cannot. Just dump that old clunker.

5) Does the person you are calling have to have the hangouts app too?
No, you are calling any number land lines or cell phones.

6) Does it use up my data plan?
Yes it does. Those calls use very little data. Much less data than one youtube video.
